Service

Service is one of the three foundational pillars of Theta Tau, reflecting our commitment to using engineering knowledge and leadership to benefit society. Through service, members strive to support the Tallahassee community, address real-world challenges, and build meaningful relationships beyond the classroom and workplace. The Phi Delta Chapter actively cultivates this responsibility by participating in both large-scale philanthropy events and smaller, hands-on volunteer initiatives. By engaging with a wide range of community partners, our Brothers make a tangible local impact while reinforcing the values of ethical leadership, civic engagement, and dedication to the public good. Service within Theta Tau is not just about volunteering — it is about consistently showing up for the communities we serve.

Habitat For Humanity

Habitat For Humanity is Theta Tau’s main philanthropy. Volunteers build, repair, and renovate affordable homes.

The Big and Little Event

The Big Event and the Little Event are both one-day service initiatives in the city of Tallahassee. Hundreds of students from FSU, FAMU, and Tallahassee State College (TSC) volunteer at various sites within the local community.

Second Harvest

Second Harvest volunteers help fight hunger by sorting, packing, and distributing food to individuals, children, seniors, and families. Opportunities range from inspecting donations, packing meal boxes or snack packs, assisting in the kitchen, supporting special events, and administrative tasks.

The Tallahassee Museum

This local museum provides endless opportunities to volunteer. Volunteers can assist in the animal department by cleaning habitats and caring for animals, assist with the educational programs during school field trips or special events, and even conduct support work by assisting with visitor services or grounds maintenance.
